Paging Michael Babcock....

No, not really, since I know how to get in touch with you by phone, but I did want to say that it warms the very cockles of my heart that you posted on the blog a few weeks ago. I thought this blog was dead. Even I, the most obsessive blog-checker in the world (I'm frequently bored at work), had stopped checking this blog because I figured no one cared anymore. But then one delightful morning, when I was so bored that I had resorted to looking at my high school's massively boring and snooty Web site, I took a chance on the City Year blog, and voila: a hilarious story from Michael. So Michael: a hearty thank you. Just like a good little doctor-in-training, you breathed one last breath of life into this limping disaster.

Meanwhile, last night I had a dream that you and I (and Joey) decided to go to CYZYGY in New York to support Christine and Katie. And I was very unfortunately dressed in a combination of City Year uniform and normal clothes (a la boots with a skirt and the CY polo), and somebody asked me, "Hey, I thought you were the girl who hated City Year." And I was like, "I am! So why the hell am I having this dream!?!" And then I woke up.

Speaking of CYZYGY, Christine, how's the Chi-town routine coming? Is it going to have classical music in it too? I can only hope so.

So, this year I am only an "honorary pt member." Too bad I can do the exercises better than anyone on the PT crew, thanks to Columbia. No classical music, but I think it will be tight. The reason I am only an honorary member is that one of my team members signed up for that committee, and then I had to sign up for another committee, but I wanted to help out without major commitments=honorary member.

Ha, that reminds me of some of the drama we have had. So, we wanted to use Nas' song, "I know I can..." The other honorary member, also a second year senior corps, suggested it. A first year said she didn't like that song, cause she just didn't, and it gives a bad message. (???) Meanwhile, this first year is also the person who brought in a song about not being able to do anything, great! So uplifting, not. Then there was a flurry of emails between the two of them. Each one felt disrespected, and to be honest, the first year made no logical argument at all.

Well, I guess that is it for me. Have a great day everyone!

Sorry I didn't answer the question earlier. My four person team is planning a big service day on Monday, and that has taken over my life, seriously. Ok, so the song goes like this: I know i can (echo, I know I can) Be what I wanna be (Be what I wanna be ) if I work hard at it (if I work hard at it) I'll be where I wanna be.

The bad song was from teh Wiz, and it goes something like, "You can't do anything, Just give up..." I don't know, it was dumb.
